Last week it was officially Fall but it’s still 90+ degrees here in the desert. This however has not kept me from shopping the Fall catalogs anticipating cooler weather and upcoming trips to where weather happens. Fashion is all over the place this Fall with something for everyone. This week I’m sharing what I packing to head home next week and NYC in November and the inspirations I found while browsing the stack of Fall fashion rags. The rags I read from beginning to end!!!

It’s all about the statement sleeves and ruffles this year and I’m in love. I have been indulging in a variety of the sleeve trends. The black bell sleeve pullover by Free People is something you can dress up or down and it has such a cute fit, snug at the waist line, loose on the hips. A dream for my figure. The army green ruffle sleeve is J. Crew and coincidentally I’ve had some camouflage pants for sometime. Strangely enough I didn’t think about that pairing until now but great Fall colors. I did think about wearing the the mustard yellow Free People sweatshirt with those camouflage pants. The sleeves are pleated and it’s so cute on.
The blush colored sweater is soft with a mock neckline and swinging sleeves. I see it as a classic wear – it will never go out of style. Finally the stripped sweater is by Zara who are always inexpensive and European cute. It’s lite weight too so I can wear it through the Spring season.
Stella McCartney is one of my many idols. She is all about saving the planet and using sustainable materials in her line of dreamy clothes. The concept of her ad campaign and her brand’s key tenets are an exploration of waste and consumption. 53 percent of her women’s collection is made from sustainable materials, and the brand is vegetarian. She is a hero and I believe a fashion pioneer leading the way to save the planet.
Nothing makes me happier than a stylish pair of platform sneakers. I’ve had people love them and hate them but for me they are magic. They can make a dress down day feel dress up. I bought the Steve Madden wedges last year and they are vegan. I’m always looking for cruelty free products and shoes are the most challenging. These wedges are super comfy and have a cute zipper up the back. This year I got these white Converse platforms. I wear them with work clothes and street clothes. Stylish either way.
I would never pay for Frame jeans but I love the fringe on these flares. The length is super cute. I however hate the cut out shoulder fad. Hate it. It does not look good on anyone.

The bomber jacket was a last year purchase that I only got to wear a couple times. I really want my mom to “Laverne and Shirley” it and embroider a “B” on the front. It’s warm but still wearable in the desert’s winter months which are never too cold.

These jeans are from Free People and aren’t they FABULOUS!!!! I think I’ve lost the required waistline to pull these off but one can always dream.

I have been on the hunt for some new lace up black boots. I ordered a pair off Zappos but the heal was too high. I found these Marc Jacobs boots and couldn’t resist. I wasn’t sure about the patent leather but they are super comfy and look good with most everything.

This Kenzo ad caught my eye because that top is so cute and her pose shows it off perfectly. Like I said it’s all about the statement sleeve.

Yes I love Jennifer Lawrence but more importantly, we should all be feminists.
